Overview
The Industrial Safe Snowmobile Operator Course will be held in Prince George. If you or staff members need snowmobile safety certification please join the course using the form below or contact bcsnowmobile@gmail.com.
Participants will receive hands on snowmobile training, concentrating on snowmobile safety awareness and risk reduction. This course is based on both the Canadian Safety Council and the British Columbia Snowmobile Federation, Industrial Safe Snowmobile Operator Training program.
- Objectives:
-Safe operation of a snowmobile including:
correct rider position on turns, hills, emergency stops, reverse, night riding, crossing roads and obstacles
-two person snowmobile operation
-trail riding signals
-PPE and avalanche gear
-terrain assessment
-safe towing of loads and snowmobiles
-snowmobile mechanical operation, and maintenance, trail repairs
-safe transport of snowmobiles including loading/unloading practices
-BC snowmobile regulations - This is a fun and informative course where participant get to practice skills together. It makes for a great team building experience.
- Cost is 670 + PST and includes the rental of a snowmobile, helmet, goggles, backpack and avy gear.
