Two day course, Hands on training
Participants upon completion Certified Industrial Safe Snowmobile Operators complying with the regulation set out by WorkSafe BC.
Basis on Safety
Start up and shutdown of snowmobile, Common hand signals for trail riding, Safe stopping, quick turns, reversing, hill riding, emergency stopping, riding over obstacles, Appropriate rider positions in various scenarios, How to efficiently and effectively get a snowmobile unstuck, Loading and unloading snowmobile from trailer or truck,Terrain awareness
Basic maintenance and repair: Familiarization with snowmobile, Belt change, Spark plug change ,Fluid levels ,Safety supplies/gear
Theory will be taught and then demonstrated. This will be done prior to each participant trying the task.
Part of each day will be spent riding a designated course. The other part of the day will be spent putting these skills to use in authentic snowmobiling situations.
Each day will be approximately 8 hours, with lunch and breaks. Students provide their own food and drink
Students are expected to be reasonably fit and healthy.
